Celebrating Indian Culture in Tasmania Since 1972
Established in 1972, we are one of Tasmania’s long-standing Indian community organisations. We were created by early members of the Indian community who wanted a place to preserve culture, build connection, and celebrate Indian heritage in Tasmania.
Today, we continue that purpose through cultural festivals, community events, educational initiatives, social gatherings, welfare support, and multicultural partnerships.
As a volunteer-led not-for-profit organisation, we are proud to support a community where people can connect with their roots, share traditions, and contribute to Tasmania’s diverse cultural life.

What We Do
Culture, Community, Support, and Connection
We support Indian culture and community life in Tasmania through events, education, welfare, partnerships, and shared cultural experiences.

Cultural Festivals and Celebrations
We celebrate Indian festivals, traditions, and cultural moments that bring families and communities together.
From major celebrations to smaller community gatherings, our events help people stay connected to Indian heritage while sharing it with the wider Tasmanian community.
Arts, Music, and Dance
We support Indian arts, music, dance, performance, and creative expression.
Our cultural programmes create opportunities for people of all ages to participate, perform, learn, and celebrate the richness of Indian traditions.

Community Events and Social Gatherings
We organise social activities that help people meet, connect, and build meaningful relationships.
These gatherings are especially valuable for new arrivals, students, young families, seniors, and anyone looking for a stronger sense of belonging.
Cultural Education and Awareness
We help promote understanding of Indian languages, culture, philosophy, traditions, and values.
Through cultural learning and awareness programmes, we support both the Indian community and the wider multicultural community in Tasmania.

Migrant and Student Support
We help Indian migrants, international students, and visitors connect with the local community.
Our aim is to make people feel welcomed, supported, and connected as they settle into life in Tasmania.
Community Welfare and Charitable Support
We support people in the community who may be elderly, disadvantaged, isolated, or in need.
Our community work is guided by care, inclusion, and the belief that strong communities look after one another.
